what have I learned from 20,000 sales on eBay

Howdy! Reader,

Kicking off this week with a WIN!

We just sent out our 20,000th order today.

What a JOURNEY! What a ride.

But it is just the beginning.

I wanna share my lessons...

BUT FIRST a couple of callouts!

BACKPACKS 4 VIC KIDS $20,000 Fundraiser:

WHATNOT SHOW #002:

🤷🏻‍♂️ Life & Thoughts

20,000 Sales later, here are the lessons:

  • Value trumps all: It’s not just about the product it’s the perceived value. Price, presentation and promise they all matter. People buy when they feel it’s worth it, so offer something that it is is too good it would be silly of them to ignore
  • What problem are you solving? Whether you’re sourcing or selling... if you’re solving someone’s problem, you hold the leverage. Make their life easier, and they’ll come back. Bring this into the core of your business.
  • Consistency wins: Speed. Quality. Delivery. Anyone can do it once. Few can do it again and again without fail. That’s where trust is built. Show up and deliver consistency.
  • Just deliver: Don’t overthink it. Don’t overcomplicate it. Meet the need, exceed the expectation. That’s it. Do the work, and do it well.
  • Its business, not personal: Detach emotionally. Treat the work like work. That clarity keeps decisions clean and operations sharper.
  • CI is important: If you’re not improving, you’re decaying. Keep tweaking, testing, and leveling up or get left behind. This applies to process, to people. to product and to the potential you offer.

If you want to build something that lasts you need to focus on the value, solve real problems, show consistently, do the work without drama, keep it professional and never stop improving.

Business Snapshot for 2025 (currently):

July is a love hate relationship! New year and chance to shine and start from 0 again!

Also... its the month of annual reoccurring expenses, to kick off the new FY.

Blended together it can really put the business under pressure.

BUT, with the right pressure we can still thrive.

Currently managing the heavy expenses for the new FY; but I am confident we will crawl back.

Yo! Reader, This week… felt like a shift. Not a “we’ve made it” moment. Not a “everything is solved” moment. But one of those weeks where you step back and go: “Okay… we’re moving again.” And after a stretch of frustration, doubt, and questioning everything… That matters more than people realise. Actually we have done our best week ever... in top line Revenue over $13.9k BUT FIRST! if you missed last weeks: read it here When You’re Above Water, You Think Differently One of the biggest...

Yo! Reader, This week felt different. Not perfect. Not magical. Not “we’ve made it” different. But different in the kind of way that reminds you what’s possible when things finally start to click again. And after a few tougher weeks, I won’t lie… I needed that. Maybe you do too. BUT FIRST! if you missed last weeks: read it here There’s A Big Difference Between Surviving and Building One thing I was reminded of this week is just how different life feels when you’re not stuck in survival mode....

Yo! Reader, And just like that… another week gone. Honestly, they’re flying at the moment. Some weeks feel long when you’re inside them, but when you step back and look at it — it’s like the calendar just keeps flipping pages. This week has been… better. Not perfect. Not exactly where I want things to be. But better. And right now, I’ll take better. BUT FIRST! if you missed last weeks: read it here Progress Doesn’t Always Feel Satisfying One thing I’ve noticed about chasing something bigger is...
