7 tactical lessons for you to leverage...

Yo Yo! Reader,

This week, I want to hit you with some straight-up, actionable lessons from my own journey.

No fluff. Just real, practical advice you can take and use.

Let’s get into it.

🤷🏻‍♂️ Life & Thoughts

These have come from my reflection over the last week, looking back over the last 90 days...

1. Celebrate Your Progress (Even When It Feels Slow)

The Struggle: You’re making progress but it feels frustratingly slow.
Why? Because we often downplay our wins or raise the bar so high that nothing feels good enough.

Action Step: Write down 3 wins from the last week—even if they feel tiny. Acknowledge the effort you put in.
📌 Challenge: What would happen if you celebrated your small wins as much as you obsessed over your big goals?

2. Stop Moving the Goalposts

The Trap: You hit a goal, then immediately push to do more.
Why? You’ve mistaken constant growth for perfectionism...

Action Step: When you reach a milestone, allow yourself to celebrate and actually enjoy the moment before chasing the next one.
📌 Challenge: Are you guilty of moving the goalposts every time you hit a new milestone? Take 24 hours to just appreciate the progress.

3. Creating Chaos to Force Growth

The Habit: You intentionally pile on more work to push yourself to operate at a higher level.
Why? You know pressure forces you to grow, but is it helping or hurting?

Action Step: Use the “forcing function” intentionally. Create deadlines or challenges that push you—but only in areas that matter.
📌 Challenge: Is this approach truly helping you grow, or is it just making things harder than they need to be?

4. Balance Speed with Patience

The Struggle: You’re rushing through things, wanting results NOW.
Why? Because you equate speed with progress, but that’s not always true.

Action Step: Identify one area where you’re forcing speed and intentionally slow down. Let the process breathe.
📌 Challenge: Are you moving fast for the sake of productivity or for genuine growth?

5. The Art of Letting Go and Delegating

The Issue: You’re trying to do everything yourself, even when it’s not necessary.
Why? Because doing more feels like progress, even when it’s just noise.

Action Step: Write down your top 5 tasks that actually move the needle. Anything outside of that? Find a way to delegate or drop.
📌 Challenge: If you focused only on the most important work, how much faster would you see results?

6. Managing the Anxiety of Delayed Progress

The Problem: You’re feeling anxious about putting in effort and not seeing immediate returns.
Why? Because the process takes time, and that sucks when you’re chasing results.

Action Step: Remind yourself of the lag effect between effort and reward. Write down one thing you KNOW will pay off in the future—even if you can’t see it yet.
📌 Challenge: What are you doing right now that you know is setting you up for success later?

7. The Bigger Picture & Long-Term Thinking

The Perspective: You feel stressed about current financials, but you also know you’re playing a long-term game.
Why? Because when you focus only on the day-to-day, you lose sight of the big picture.

Action Step: Break down your vision into quarters, years, and even decades. Map out your long-term goals and revisit them weekly.
📌 Challenge: Are you making decisions based on short-term discomfort or your long-term vision?

Howdy Reader, A year ago, I wrote about “catching a break” and back then, it was coming from a place of hope.I was in the thick of uncertainty, trying to convince myself that if I just kept pushing, something had to give. Now, a year later, I’ve realised something important: You don’t wait for a break... you become it. Reflecting from where I was last year... lower sales, lower revenue, lower profits... and feeling a squeeze. Here I am again 1 year later, with the feeling of being squeezed...

Howdy Reader, I am determined to see my dreams become a reality. One way or another and through the thick of it all. YOU SHOULD TOO! My dreams = my responsibilities. However every so often I have random backseat drivers drop their wise words of motivation like this... “For every one person who succeeds, a hundred thousand fail.” And they say it on the basis that due to this, I will likely fail, so why bother. TRULEY with an attitude like that, for sure we are going to fail. But those odds...
