Yo Yo Reader,What a week! So many things changing (for the better) and it excites me, but it can be scary too! Last weeks Newsletter can be read here Let's chat about it! 🤷🏻‍♂️ Life & ThoughtsEchoing from last week and reiterating the importance of the book "The Dip, but Seth Godin", I still suggest you give it a listen or read. Grab a copy here The Dip, by Seth Godin, talks about those tough moments when things feel impossible, and it gives us insight into why sticking it out can lead to the biggest rewards. This week in the business, I encountered a challenge again of space, not just for storing stock, but for just enabling growth. So I bit the bullet and got another one! I remember when I got my first unit to level up the business and WOW, it was a scary jump... but now 5 units later they have been KEY moments in helping the business grow and I wanted to share some of the thinking and numbers behind that "level up" it forces to occur.
This graph tells us a few interesting things:
The RATIO between a unit and $100k in revenue across the 5 units and the $500k is almost a perfect 1 But this isn't the cool number I discovered, these are:
This on average is about 3.6 more sales per day each time I gain a unit and with an ASP since Day 1 of $37.42, thats an extra $134 dollars being generated from the added unit per day, which means though I spend on average $332 per unit, the ROI is looking to be ~$4k per month. Not too bad. PLEASE NOTE - this does not mean it will be the same for you as the KEY element is the effort, time, and decisions weighted with this expense and how it is leveraged. So if you can make it work and have it work for you then it is a WELL WORTH way to grow the business through investing to grow. Just remember, you still have to do the work. Do I have it figured out? NOPE! But as I step forward to grow, it requires the opportunity to grow (as with the challenges). But you have to own it. Good or bad, a lesson or a valued outcome - either way, it will make you better in the long run. 💰 Business Just to be clear - I am not here to share with you how to build your business. I am here sharing how I am building mine. November is in full force! with this new expense and expansion... the numbers will be interesting by the time we finish paying for wages and all expenses this month... Storage has been paid for, so has all of last months post... lets see how the 2nd half of the month plays out... Also, I started a new Business: a Product Listing Service Our Product Listing Service ProListAssist will free up your time, allowing you to focus on scaling your business and doing what you love, or to simply buy back time. By outsourcing the tedious task of listing items, you can achieve more by working less.
