Howdy Reader,My most recent episode on the Pod, I spoke about a piece of advice you ignored (or went against) that ended up being the right decision... Today I want to further reiterate this... Last weeks Newsletter can be read here 🤷🏻‍♂️ Life & ThoughtsWe get advice all the time, right? Sometimes it’s helpful, but other times… not so much. Figuring out what’s truly valuable versus what’s just someone else’s projection can be tricky. Here’s my take on the advice I chose to ignore and why that choice became one of the best decisions I ever made. Taking the Leap: Betting on MyselfYears ago, (may of you would know) I made the decision to leave my 9-to-5 job. Plenty of people cheered me on, but there were also many who thought I was out of my mind. They warned me about the risks, the lack of security, the “what ifs.” But deep down, I knew that stepping away from what was comfortable was the only way I’d ever get to where I truly wanted to be. So I did and well it was and has been the best thing I did :) When to Ignore the NaysayersWe all get advice from people who, with the best intentions, want to keep us “safe.” But safe isn’t always what’s best. Here’s how I think about it:
Peer Pressure, Validation, and Cultural NarrativesIn a world where everyone has an opinion, it’s easy to get caught up in what other people think you “should” do. We’re surrounded by cultural expectations, social pressures, and sometimes the desire for validation from others.
The Takeaway: Self-Trust is KeyIgnoring advice isn’t about being rebellious for the sake of it. It’s about self-trust. When I stepped away from my steady job, I knew the journey wouldn’t be easy. But I also knew I’d regret it if I didn’t take the chance. I’ve learned to weigh advice carefully, consider its relevance, and then make a choice that feels true to me. So, here’s my challenge to you: What’s a piece of advice you ignored (or wanted to ignore) that turned out to be the right call? If you’ve ever made a bold decision that went against the advice of others, I’d love to hear your story. Taking that first leap into the unknown isn’t easy, but the rewards can be life-changing. The more you trust yourself, the more you’ll see what you’re truly capable of. So go out there, back yourself, and let your own path unfold. To further reiterate the importance of trusting your gut, not giving up, but also being willing to continuously improve - this week I have hit a milestone which has taken MONTHS of trial and error and problem solving and many ups and downs! $30,000 month in revenue in the business! WHICH BLOWS MY MIND... This is what the journey looks like in a graph format... Also note: Net Profit is: 18.64% (for October 2024, the $30k month) The point is! The things you want. Take time, effort and persistence. Go get it! 💰 Business Just to be clear - I am not here to share with you how to build your business. I am here sharing how I am building mine. Howdy Reader, I am determined to see my dreams become a reality. One way or another and through the thick of it all. YOU SHOULD TOO! My dreams = my responsibilities. However every so often I have random backseat drivers drop their wise words of motivation like this... “For every one person who succeeds, a hundred thousand fail.” And they say it on the basis that due to this, I will likely fail, so why bother. TRULEY with an attitude like that, for sure we are going to fail. But those odds...
Yo Reader, Ever notice how growth doesn’t always feel like growth while it’s happening? I have shared this likely 10x now... but it still needs to be a reminder for myself, so why not share with you too! You look back later... months or years and realise how far you’ve come, even when most days felt like you were standing still. Thats the beauty of "showing up and time passes anyway". Time works in your favour when you show up. That is how you build momentum. This is how it compounds when you...
